The louiza (scientific name: Aloysia citrodora or Lippia citriodora) is a deciduous shrub between 1.5-2 m tall and belongs to the family Verbenaceae.

Louisa leaves are used to flavor lemons in fish and poultry, vegetables, marinades, sauces, jams, puddings, yogurt and beverages. It is also used as a decoction, or added to tea to flavor lemon (as is usually the case with Moroccan tea). It has healing properties against the fungus Candida albicans.

Its consumption in a decoction is said to help with muscle spasms, stomach pain, menstrual cramps, anxiety, and as an antipyretic.
